Microzide is indicated to treat edema and high blood pressure
Microzide is a drug given for the treatment of high blood pressure. It is an oral drug that can be taken with food or in empty stomach.
When you are taking the drug, is better to take it before evening as the drug is known to increase urination. Always follow the right dosages. In case you skip a dosage, take it once you realise it. But never take two Microzide drugs at the same time.
Before Microzide is taken, consult your doctor and discuss with him about all the risks involved in taking the medicine. Apart from this, you should also inform the doctor about all your allergies and also your healthy problems.
The doctor may not give the drug or may go for dosage adjustments if you have gout, lupus, liver/kidney issues, diabetes, high/low blood electrolyte levels and asthma.
Pregnant women and breast-feeding mothers should not take Microzide as the drug is known to have adverse effects on the unborn and the newborn.
The drug is also not prescribed if you cannot urinate or if you are allergic to Microzide ingredients. As the drug causes light-headedness and dizziness, you should not drive or perform any hard task after taking Microzide. These can worsen if Alcohol is taken.
Before surgery or dental care, you should have to inform the surgeon before hand that you are on Microzide medication. You should also avoid sunlight while you are having Microzide.
Like all drugs, Microzide also comes with allergic reactions and many side effects.
